Break Up With Your Makeup
After the crazy brow trend of the 1990s, naturally perfect balanced eyebrows are few and far between. That's where Microblading can help you achieve perfect eyebrows Microblading (also known as hair stroke brows, hyperrealistic brows, 6d eyebrows, microstroking and micropigmentation)
Microblading is semi permanent and gives you perfectly shaped brows that you don't have to spend 30 minutes worrying about in the morning.
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a very natural and customizable form of permanent makeup technique that involves taking a small blade made of tiny needles to draw hair like strokes on the eyebrow area to give you more defined brows.
Organic pigment is deposited into the skin through these tiny needles creating a realistic "semi" permanent eyebrows that are thicker, more defined, and perfectly shaped.
How Long Has Microblading Been Around?
While it seems like your favorite social media influencer was the first one to start this beauty trend, they can have several seats because microblading has been big in Asia long before social media was even a thing.
In the eternal search for the perfect brows, microblading has become a sought after procedure because of its low maintenance and precision and has made it's way over to the United States, specifically Sacramento , California around 5 years ago.
Why do people love Microblading?
Microblading has become a sought after procedure because of its low maintenance and precision.
Microblading gives you LIFE PROOF eyebrows that are
-WATERPROOF - SMUDGEPROOF -SWEATPROOF,
allowing you to live your best life while wearing your best brows!
Ladies, we know that you know the power of a perfect brow.
Is Microblading A Tattoo?
Short answer is YES! Any procedure where pigment is implanted in the skin is considered tattooing.
Microblading is essentially getting a face tattoo you can bring home to mom, but it's still different from a traditional tatt.
Tattoos are done with a tattoo gun and microblading is done with a super small blade. Some of the blades are as small as .15 millimeters, that's only 0.006 inches.
The most important difference between microblades and tattoo needles is how deep they penetrate and deposit pigment into the skin. There are three different layers of skin epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.
Tattoo guns penetrate the epidermal dermal junction, which is where the top layer and second layer of skin meet. And that is deep enough to make a tattoo permanent. Microblading on the other hand only deposits pigment into the epidermis, making it "semi" permanent.
How long does Microblading last?
With enough rigorous face washing and suntanning those fake hairs will start to fade.
It's definitely not immediate though. microbladed eyebrows can last about 2-3 years depending on your skin type and how well you take care of them.
But since skin regenerates about once a month, you'll probably want to get a touch up annually on that sweet tatted up face before they show signs of fading.
What is the Microblading process?
1. The microblading artists takes measurements and maps out your new brow shape with a skin safe pen. This allows you to get a preview of your face and discuss with the artists your brow goals.
2. Once you're satisfied with the outline and the ink color, they will apply numbing cream before they start microblading so that you are comfortable through the microblading process.
After the artist is done, you can take a look and let them know if you want any more spots filled in or if you're in love with your brow transformation.
What is the Microblading
healing process?
The first part of the healing process takes about a week, however the entire healing process takes about six weeks.
For the first 10 days, you CANNOT under any circumstances get your new eyebrows wet. That means no face washing, no swimming, no heavy sweating, no saunas.
Remember, these are basically new wounds with ink in them. It's only when the scab heals completely and comes off on its own (NO PICKING ON SCABS), that the ink will be fully deposited into the skin. So getting your eyebrows wet with all that ink in jeopardy.
How To Protect Your Microblading?
Be sure to wear sunscreen to protect your investment because those dastardly UV rays will definitely speed up the fading process and avoid using harsh exfoliators such as benzoyl peroxide, salicyclic acid, or retinoids (Retin-A) on the brow area.
What to look for in a microblading artist?
This is one of the MOST important steps when considering Microblading!
Always ask to see the Sacramento County Health Deparment permit as well as proof of certification from a well-known training academy. There are many salons and individuals that offer poor quality courses in Microblading and it is therefore vital to do extensive research. Remember this is going on your face for the next 3 year!!!
Google microblading disaster and you'll see what I mean. That's why it's important to do your due diligence and find a trusted microblading technician before going under the tiny knife.
Does it Hurt?
Most clients barely feel a thing – some even fall asleep while others find the pain intense, but manageable.
To ensure that you are comfortable through the entire microblading process we will apply numbing cream before starting the microblading.
*Please note that if you are on your cycle or if you have had alcoholic beverages, coffee, or energizing drinks the day of and/or the night before, you may be more sensitive to the procedure.
How long does the appointment take?
The microblading process takes roughly 2-3 hours from start to finish.
How do I prepare for Microblading?
If you have an ideal shape, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment.
You can also fill in your eyebrow as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire.
Things to Avoid before Microblading
Avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin and ibuprofen as they are natural blood thinners.
Do not drink any alcohol 24 hours before and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. This will affect the colour deposit and may make you more prone to sensitivity and/or cause more bleeding.
If you have been on Accutane in the past, you must wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
It is highly recommended that you avoid intense sun exposure and tanning bed exposure for 20 days before and after your procedure. If you show up to your appointment with a new tan or sunburn, you will need to reschedule.
Avoid waxing the procedure area 2-3 days prior.
Avoid getting any type of facial peel at least one week prior.
You may want to shower ahead of time because you will need to avoid getting them wet and over hydrated after the appointment.
